Long Beach resident Ryan McIntyre began his extensive culinary career right here on 2nd Street at the Shenandoah Cafe. He completed the Culinary Arts program at Long Beach City College and then graduated from the prestigious California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. In 1999, he was a key part of the team that opened the W in San Francisco, and had a very successful tenure with the company, including positions as Executive Banquet Chef and Executive Chef for the W in Westwood, Los Angeles. After several years in the restaurant and event industry, McIntyre moved into the realm of private catering in L.A., opening up Off the Shelf Catering and focusing on the entertainment industry, where he created cuisine for such notables as Dustin Hoffman, Ben Stiller and many others. Ryan decided to spend more time at home with his family and bought Kitchen Outfitters, conveniently located in Naples. Ryan was named Executive Chef for Choura Events in 2009, to specifically bring sophisticated and new flavor profiles to the menu selections at both The Grand and Choura Event Catering.
